Early Intervention & Child Development

Welcome to ATIC’s Early Intervention and Child Development Services your trusted center of choice.

Our Early Intervention and Child Development services are the first of its kind in the region, a multi-disciplinary team with an integration and specialization of Arts Psychotherapy, a natural methodology for your child to feel at ease at the beginning of their journey.

Our space is an alternative to a traditional model; we do however gain clinical results through a non-threatening methodology! At ATIC we don’t want children to feel anything out of the ordinary.

We believe in meeting children and young people as early as clinically beneficial in order to devise a tailormade intervention. We provide early assessment and early intervention to prevent or minimize challenges that lie ahead which could hinder development, cognition, emotional literacy, behaviour, relationships, and a child’s overall mental health and wellbeing, which without support, could impact adolescence and even adulthood.

Our interventions are designed to support both children and parents. We benchmark our services on the latest evidence-based practices from the UK.

We apply our collective knowledge and vast experience as a team in early intervention, child development, developmental delay, and attachment to yield results. As part of our overall quality assurance, we also take safeguarding seriously, we have a safeguarding designated lead and also run safeguarding courses for professionals within our community.

What Do We Do?

  • We provide early intervention from infancy onwards.
  • We believe in meeting children and young people as early as clinically beneficial in order to devise a tailor-made intervention.
  • We provide early assessment and early intervention to prevent or minimize challenges that lie ahead which could hinder development, cognition, emotional literacy, behaviour, relationships, and a child’s overall mental health and wellbeing, which without support, could impact adolescence and even adulthood.
  • Our interventions are designed to support both children and parents.

We support your child through

  • Multi-disciplinary early Intervention, with a unique perspective gained from Expressive Psychotherapists integrating Art, Play, Music, and Movement.
  • We gain a child’s perspective by understanding and gauging where they are namely, socially, emotionally and physically while reflecting on their speech, sensory needs and overall development and how they respond in relation to self and others.

ATIC’s Three Step Process

  1. Parent Interview/Evaluation
The process starts with a detailed interview with the parent which in fact is part of ATIC’s developmental evaluation, to gather specific information, as a starting point for us to best assess the child’s development.
  2. Observation Arts-Based Session
Here the child engages in specific and varied arts-based activities. This is the fun part for the child! The therapist will use this time to better understand how the child interacts with the world around him/her.
  3. Feedback Session
Our therapists will then share their findings during a parent feedback session including the type of intervention recommended, with an emphasis on working towards the child’s and families’ overall strengths. Each intervention is unique but incorporates expressive therapies.

We use standardized and evidence-based methods to screen and assess young children’s abilities/development in a reliable way. Our interventions incorporate all areas of development: attention, speech and language, cognitive development, motor development, art, play social and emotional growth.

Vision

  • Our vision is for children and families in the region to be effectively and inclusively supported drawing on their strengths in order to achieve their fullest potential.
