Melandri van Jaarsveld

BSc(Hons), HCPC, DHA

Mel is a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist specializing in paediatric care, with a strong focus on children's mental health. She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2016 and has since gained valuable experience working across diverse settings in South Africa, the UK, and the UAE. With a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of children, she focuses on supporting children's development, independence, and overall well-being. Her approach is neuro-affirming, ensuring that each child’s unique brain development and learning style are respected and celebrated. She firmly believes in celebrating and embracing children's neurodiversity, viewing it as a unique strength rather than a challenge. Her goal is to empower each child by highlighting their individual abilities and using their neurodiverse traits as a victory point in their development. By focusing on their strengths, she creates an environment where children feel understood, valued, and supported, helping them thrive in all areas of their lives. Through this approach, she aims to foster self-confidence and resilience, enabling children to reach their full potential.

Whether working in schools, clinics, or at homes, she brings a wealth of experience and a holistic approach to each child’s therapy journey, ensuring they receive the best care possible.
